Wow, I have been speeding through work, till the point that I have forgetten to blog.

Don't Worry Ma'am and Sir and Missies and Marlene and Udo and Ernst, I will blog my fullest if I have the time and plus, internet.

So far about my life at Pepper Lunch, it's pretty simple, just working till I am totally oblivious to social interaction. There was a few times when Don found a few faults with me, but there was always no hard feelings after that. I remembered this incident whereby I witnessed Don in another sticky situation. A man complained that the pepper rice he ordered was simply too salty. Don offered to replace it immediately, but then the man thought Don was trying to sabotage him by putting extra salt in the rice. Don said she wouldn't have done it, besides, why would she do it for? Losing another customer?

Then after the man got his replacement [thankfully he didn't have any more trouble after that], and finished it, he went to the counter and apologised to Don if there was any misgivings between them. THEY EVEN SHOOK HANDS WITH DON! It's like, a beautiful story that has this 'happily-ever-after' anding to the whole incident. After that, I asked Don how she felt. She replied me that it feels great to win over difficult customers in sticky situations, and that it spurs her on in her job....

O.0 haha.

Oh, speaking about STICKY, My Pop Goddess has kicked off her tour: Sticky and Sweet Tour. She started off in, I think ... somewhere called the Golden Circle in Cardiff? Although her costumes are really nice, sexy and praise her looks, i still think some are a bit too... skimpy. It's alright to dress like that, but too much wouldn't be a nice thing right?

Her opener, Candy Shop, totally drives me crazy as her previous Finale in her Confessions Tour, Hung Up. She was like, sitting on this Throne-like chair on the stage, and she made her way to the frontline crowd. The dancing part where she sang'MY SUGAR IS RAW' totally rocks a million times! Then she just ... scolded a few times in vulgarity, but that proves she's being who she wants to be. Solid right? Yeah, She's HARD [Now, where you're thinking???].

oh Yeah, my results were out [long ago].

German: A!!!!

Inorganic Chemistry: B+

Microbiology for Food Science: B+

the rest I won't tell you, no point saying as its not that great...

"I can't believe it. I thought at most i will get a B"

And for my GPA: a meagre 2.904:-( NOT up to my expected GPA.

I just work like hell for the next semester for a 3.5 then :)

A Yakult-y Experience... :)

Oh yay, finally another day to input some delicious info about school life... :)



We(FS0803) came back during Tuesday on the revision week, as we had to go for our 2nd Field trip.



Last time was to Gardenia Bread factory [Bread], the familiar brand with us.



This time it was Yakult [Dairy/ milk products], the ever-famous cultured fermented milk drink children seem to crave for... :D



I arrived at around 1pm, and went to get my CASIO Fx-82AU authorized in exam use, and then went to withdraw cash. On the way to the block P/Q, I met with utmost surprise, Madam and Missy1 on their way strolling as well. I walked slower than them and tagged along behind. On occasions I nearly got discovered when missy1 turned her head, but it was not till Missy2's appearance that I was found out. They had a shock at both BX and me, as we seemed to have 'changed hairstyles'. Indeed i have straightened my precious hair, but BX was only clipping up her fringe I think...



I got more attention when ppl started asking me how much the straightening costs, till the bus arrived. I sat next to Shi Hui and remained silent all the way to the factory...[ps: I was reading on PoE] :)



We alighted, and then proceeded to a small room for a briefing. Wow the briefing was real short... you should know what I mean... but overall, I LIKED IT, esp. the part where a bottle of untouched YAKULT was opened and then extracting a few drops with the straw. they were dropped onto something like a glass slide, then the kind gentleman [there to explain to us on the histories, the functions of Lactobacillus casei (Shirota strain) and the Bifidobacteria origin etc.] let us view the MICROSCOPIC view of what is in the yakult.



That, was right after he made us each drink down a can of YAKULT before everything else, including the presentation.



I was like, seeing a pool of tiny rod-shaped cells squiggling their way around each other. I was totally WOWED by the image, but Madam YT and alot of the others were like freaking out totall... You could hear those exclamations amongst the class:



"YUCKS we JUST SWALLOWED THAT INTO OUR STOMACH!"



"10 BILLION BACTERIA JUST SWALLOWED!"



"EEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"



"SOooooooooooooooooooo CUTE!!!!!" > this was said by yours truly

The man kept emphasizing on how Yakult is different from the other brands [pls, what other cultured milk drinks can you find in Singapore? Obvious right?] in terms of the strains of bacteria used>



"We use 3 types- L.casei SHIROTA STRAIN, Bifidobacteria and S.thermophilus, while the OTHERS use only 2 types: L.bulgaricus and S.thermophilus"



"Our Shirota strain L.casei has been studied and strengthened during the years to be able to get to the intestines alive. Thanks to Mr. Minoru Shirota, our genius founder."



... and he was also harping on about how pampered Singapore was:

Then after that he told us how these helpful bacteria can activate the Macrophages in the body to phagocytocize the candida cells, as well as activation the NK- cells in fighting cancerous cells. WONDERFUL, as in the scientific illustrations and real micoscopic videos of the BATTLE OF THE CELLS. cute sia :)



We then started our little walk around the factory seeing the various stages of production of Yakult. Which ended us in the end of the Yakult tour.

oh dear such a busy week that i have no time to blog...

now i tell you more about my work @ Pepper Lunch before the week 16 of hectic presentations.

I was like, working into the evening, and then the whole restaurant was filled with people.
Full house, to be short. The crowds were like already queuing up FOR A SEAT, not TO BUY FOOD, but still, some people still want to challenge us and defiantly queue up, as though they have a table number. I am on the verge of panic of afraid of being reprimanded by Don, and at the same time I had to be FAST! Ooops.

I was like trying to split myself into 4 parts; one for attending to the waiting customers, one for clearing the mess after customers left, one for serving the hotplates and the last one for patrolling the whole area. Don was like nagging me to HURRY UP and be a multi-tasking machine, in a loud tone, and then i was trying my best to accomodate to her wishes, but still I managed to have a taste of CUSTOMER VIOLENCE. SuCkS big time.

There was this family of about 4 who was queueing up for food without a table tag, and Don asked me to tell them to queue up at the glass panel for a seat. The mother was like, ranting about a story claiming that i HAD a seat for her in such a CROWDED situation! she left the queue and tried to find a seat in the restaurant but obviously she CAN't get one. Don then sensed the 'simmering of the curry before the boiling' and came out to reason [in a polite manner] to her. But before she knew it, the sickened lady was somehow being rude and she THREW the cup of mineral water [free from Pepper Lunch] she was sipping onto Don. Luckily she must have failed in her accuracy test, or else Don would have to change clothes. :) [Don was even kind enough to say "THANK YOU MA'AM, THANK YOU!" after she [the sickened lady] left feeling embarassed]. Don questioned me whether I forgot to tell them they needed to queue up for a table, and I said she didn't even ask me. I swear I can hear her screaming and cursing like a madwoman in the kitchen :)

Then on 1 August [i think so?], i broke a pepper bottle after bringing it into the kitchen [joining tables need to do this as we do not want customers to waste sauces!]. I dunno whether Don was joking about deducting $10 from my account for that. Later on, I missed my grip and broke... ... another thing which is the table tag [L-shaped stand, and i broke it such that it wobbles when it stands]. Don looked at me and said : "I don't care, you bring it back to the factory and solder it back for me!" :) [I think not...]

Don then told me to work on National Day and agreed, but then she said : I Know u oni wan to work because of the 1.5X salary right? :) haha she guessed it right.

GERMAN BBQ RAWKS (too bad for those who did not turn up)

Yoyo... finally I got the chance to blog finally. the German BBQ on last Saturday was simply SUPERB? :)

i wanted to actually arrive early at the school so that i can like, submit my late report. Just a misnomer: Offices are closed on Weekends. Screw that right?

Well, the rendezvous with Udo und Marlene was not too bad, considering we had like, er, quite a detour kind of walk to reach the carpark. on the way we were discussing about the BBQ later on and how .... Strange we would become meeting up with pure Germans. We waited and waited, but Marlene said that we won't be meeting Frau Lian in School, so we squatted along the kerb and waited for the bus to ARRIVE. it began to rain lightly --> HEAVILY till we boarded up the bus. We guessed what the outcome of the BBQ is going to look like, :)

I got my 1st culture shock when i saw groups of blonds for the 1st time conjugating together. Then when we boarded up the bus, we had to INTRODUCE OURSELF for the 1st time!

I was glad Marlene shouted for us on the bus:
"I'm Marlene and he's Moritz, and he is Udo. ... ... ..."

Man, I can't forget how retarded we looked at the rear seats facing the rest of them... soooooo awkard...

Then when we reached the park @ Pasir Ris, rain stopped, but it was still wet everywhere. LOLs how are we going to set up a fire in the pit? Marlene was then acting like a possessed woman; she kept playing the annoying [I can give you Gatsby] advertisement song.... man Udo was like sooooooooo irritated then. We then proceeded to the beach to catch few puffs of fresh crisp air, but then this infestation of male mosquitoes came hovering above the shore. We observed minute hermits mating on the lone rock on the sands [so small its like no larger than a grain of sand] when they crawled over each other and stayed still for what seemed like a LOOOOOOOOng time. When the male mozzies infestation became so bad that they kept flying into us, we freaked out and ran to 'safety'. i told Marlene the mosquitoes are harmless, and they do not bite at all, but she still went on to apply medicated oil over her legs etc... Udo was like:

''I'm very hungry already... is the food ready... have they started?"

I told him that he was impatient.

then the games started playing WACKO in small groups...Marlene und Udo wanted to come with me together as a group, but we were ''caught in the act'' and so we remained separated... :(
I remambered a few Names, mainly Anna, Joanna, Patrick, Felix, Laura, Simmon, Wilson, Carolyn und Friedrich... it was quite fun although i was being WACKED a few times and sabo-ed when i did not react fast enough.

After that, some people came and then started the fire for us... i believe they are hired to help us start the fire since they look neither like students nor tutors. i hand in to them as they are able to make a VERY HEARTY fire. after that we were SNATCHING THE FOOD.... joking...haha we were eating happily, and there were:
1. Franfurter Wurstchen [JUICY]
2. Kartoffeln mit Apfel salat [APPETIZING]
3. Rindersteak [which we did not eat at all]
4.Bratfisch [very flvourful]
5. Obst [we only ate the Apfel before they were snatched up]
6. Otah [palatable]
7. Rice with raisins and veggies in it
8. Satay & Ketupat [the usual oriental]
9. Hanchen wings
10. Maize

Even though we only ate afew types of food that day , we were quite happy as it is like... with Frau Lian that met us in the Park. She brought her baby daughter to show off, and we were sure she looked SchÖn. Another friendly gathering. then Marlene wanted to take a SCANDAL PHOTO with me. I freaked out when she suddenly touched my face [I got the shruggy-feeling]... and did the ... you know, the Anime type pose... i was then Emotionally scarred for the very 1st time! she was still like, craving for MOREMOREMORE.... i guess i am too cute... :)

After that we went to MacDonalds's after they dropped us off the NYP carparks. we ate Strawberry sundae together and ...... I PERSUADED MARLENE TO BUT MADONNA'S HARD CANDY ALBUM [$17.90]!!!!!!!! YES! she said that the music was not below her expectation of MADONNA..... i wonder when the next compilation come out... I'll DEFINITELY buy it...

Finally... exams over... and for the exciting part...

abit disappointed as i was overly confident...
anyway i had lot of fun during the post exam period...

1. MAKING ICE CREAM... our group was the lucky one as we used double amount of ingredients and egg yolk and of course... the ultimate mechanical ice cream machine!!!
I can tell you the ice cream tastes soooooooo nice, just like those soft serve ice cream you find in some places... [other group usd hand method to beat the mixture into ice cream...]... Wilson soo sorry, you missed the fun. :) but the post eveluation i'm sure you enjoyed the ice cream!! :)

2. Still laming whenever i can with my NYP family... still being 'abused' by the misses and sir. ma'am at least kindhearted only offer verbal abuse only... [i got alot of kicks from missy2 under my foot, and scratches. i think i am about to marry a 'hairy boyfriend' i met with my friends Siti, Nana and Lolita in Lucky Plaza. he's soooooooooooooooo... hairy. LOL :) Ma'am, must make a grand affair ok? I want all my indo-friends to join me in the wedding... especially 'Fitri'. Ma'am, i think you must teach your 2nd Nu-er to be WENROU... she is like... got PMS. :):):):) no offence arrrrrrr, Missy2.

3. Evaluation of MEAT: Sooooooooooooooooooo intersting...
1st we took out a piece of raw steak...
then we POUNDED it, then we measure area and weight.
then we FRY it...
OMG the aroma makes me feel blessed in the lab as we fried both sides for 3min each.
then we calc. the % wt loss and shrinkage in size. o.O

Ok here comes the best part... we used two pieces of lean pork to measure the texture and fibrous structure. 1st, the meats was cooked in boiling water for awhile. then taken out. then we evaluated it, then we tried it. Celeste was like, she clearly does not want to pop the piece of fiber in her mouth. Yi Ting as well. only me & Wilsorn dared. the taste was norm, but the piece without tenderizer was like, yucks. still raw and BLOODY. wonder if i could get Salmonella in my tummy or not. :)
The next meaty thing we did was to make a meaty patty from minced pork/ beef i also dun know. after going in the oven being salted by 5G of salt [ooops its supposed to be a must in our group experiments, but at least better than adding pineapple chunks], thw whole thing came out wonderfully juicy and ... SALTY. Even though, we still enjoyed the meat galore that day... :)

6. Just a day before i posted this, i nearly caused my NYP family to die from choking on food. Missy2 was like ... laughing with the food in her mouth [mind you, her food was full of oily stuff]. Missy1 also, see me do anything weird, she will ignite off with the laughing bomb. really if Mariam was mot here the whole NYP family will be like. . . funeral parlour like that.

7. I am so going to continue my german... i simply love it so much its soo challenging and unique. though i do not wish to go Germany [the stuff there is $$$$ than Singapore by 2X!! high standard of living!]
"Ich liebe Deutsch, und du? Aber ich nicht bin interessant wohne im Deutschland... Ich findet zu teuer lebe in Deutschland!"
Ha how's my german?? I did not use any translation thingys when i typed that i swear ok...

8. Madonna's driving me crazy. I'm so going to buy her Deluxe edition of Hard Candy... [FYI i have her Confessions on a Dancefloor Deluxe edition as well. :) ] then i saw the LP thingy of Hard Candy as well. $59.90! but anyway i dun have tt DJ thing to play it, so .... too bad. I just want the candy inside the album... mmmm the 'sticky and sweet' album.... candy galore...
awwwwwwwwww..... her STICKY & SWEET TOUR is only touring in Europe... not SINGAPORE!!!! if she did... she would surely have boosted the ecnomy of Singapore by tourism means.... lols i am talking illogical for something iam wishing to happen... If you by chance seen this message M-Dolla, i tell you... "PLEASE GIVE YOUR FANS IN S'PORE THEIR WISHES!!!" haha no offence meant :)
